There are two options: traditional and gestational. Traditional surrogacy is when the surrogate uses her own eggs and will therefore be genetically related to the child. Gestational surrogacy is where you can use your own eggs, or even donor eggs, so the surrogate is not genetically related.

Once you have found a surrogate, the next step is for all of you to come to our clinic for initial consultations. There will be one for you and your partner, and a separate consultation for your surrogate.

Is surrogacy for me?

Surrogacy may be good option if you have had repeated failure of IVF treatment even though you have created good embryos, if you are a gay couple who require a surrogate host in order to have a baby, if you suffer from Asherman’s Syndrome, if you have previously had a hysterectomy or if you do not have a womb.

How do I find a surrogate?

Your surrogate could be someone you know – such as a family member or a friend – or you can find surrogate through a charity, such as COTS or Surrogacy UK.

What does surrogacy cost?

The cost depends on the type of surrogacy you choose. For example, gestational surrogacy using your own eggs costs £6,300 with additional costs for aspects of the treatment that need to be tailored specifically to you, such as medication. If you are interested in another form of surrogacy we can provide you with a bespoke quote. Read more here.
