London Fertility Centre worked hard to make the process as easy as possible

Same-sex families

We frequently help lesbian and gay couples with fertility treatment. As a same sex couple, your treatment is likely to have a good chance of success because there may not be any underlying fertility issues.

For women:

Your fertility treatment will be donor insemination, which is carried out using IVF, IUI or ICSI. Our current success rates for IUI with donor sperm are 36% for stimulated cycles and 25% for natural cycles.

You may choose to use sperm from someone you know, or you can select a donor from a sperm bank.

We have our own large sperm bank which is available exclusively for the use of London Fertility Centre patients.

For men:

You can have a baby through a surrogate. This may be someone you know personally, or you can find a surrogate through a charity like Surrogacy UK or COTS. The charities are set up to support you through every step of surrogacy and are an excellent source of information and advice.

Your surrogate may use their own eggs, or you could use donated eggs from somebody you know or an anonymous, altruistic donor.

The type of treatment will depend on your personal preferences and the doctor’s recommendations, but it is most commonly IVF.
