The treatment is used by lesbian couples and single women. It can also be used by heterosexual couples if the male partner is unable to use his sperm.

Donor insemination is used alongside interuterine insemination (IUI), IVF or intracystoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatments, so the process you go through will depend on which of these treatments is right for you. Read more about IUI, IVF and ICSI.

Our current success rates for IUI using donor sperm are 36% for stimulated cycles and 25% for natural cycles.

Choosing donor sperm

We have a large sperm bank and our donors are available exclusively for the use of London Fertility Centre patients. We also have links with several large international sperm banks, so we can always ensure we will be able to find a donor who matches your specific criteria.
